Supporting our business
communities is very important to all of us at Marty Designs. We believe that the
community in which we work and live is strengthened when helping hands and
shared knowledge come together. We use our company resources to enhance the
cities and towns in which our employees live and work.
Hospice-
Hospice is about comfort,
support, compassion and dignity. We use our financial resources to give in
memory of Marty's Mom, Bernice Rose Heim.
Homeless-
Shelters provide safe, temporary housing for homeless
people. We collect personal items
for the homeless, with help from the High Point Chamber and the Greensboro
Merchants Association C.A.N. group. We can bring an end to homelessness
only through a concerted effort to ensure that jobs pay a living wage, adequate
support is available for those who cannot work, affordable housing is available
and health care is accessible to all.
Big Brothers Big Sisters-
Our team collects pledges from
clients and people we know. We use our company resources to match funds we
collect. Our team collected the most money and won a travel voucher for $500.
What did we do with the prize?
Girl Scouts of America-
We use our time and
share our knowledge with Girl Scout troops, helping them earn their technology
badges. A special thanks to Guilford Technical Community College’s High Point
campus for allowing us to use the computer lab,
making this program a
success.
Triad area High School mentor program-
This program allows
students to explore their personal interests in a hands-on, real-world
environment instead of in a classroom setting. Marty takes the students with her
on business appointments and undoubtedly together they develop a new corporate
client Web site!
